Placement

All students enrolled in our English Preparatory Program are subjected to the Oxford Placement Test to determine their level. This exam allows our students' current English levels to be evaluated according to the internationally valid CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) levels.

Post-Exam Process:

  • A1 and A2 Levels: Students who are determined to be at A1 or A2 level according to their exam results are placed in classes appropriate to their level and begin their education.
  • B1 and Above Levels: Students who are determined to be at B1 and above proceed to a second evaluation stage. At this stage, another exam is administered to measure our students' writing and speaking skills, 50 percent writing and 50 percent speaking.
  • Preparatory Exemption: Students who score 60 and above in the second stage exam are exempted from the English Preparatory Program and directly start their undergraduate education in their relevant departments.
  • Level Determination: Students who score below 60 are first placed in our B1 or B2 level classes according to their Oxford Placement Test results.

Evaluation at the Beginning of the Academic Year:

In the first week of the academic year, if the student is deemed not to be suitable for the class they are placed in, based on the evaluation and recommendation of our teachers, our student may be offered the opportunity to take the placement exam once more. Our students have the opportunity to receive education in the most suitable learning environment for them. Thus, our students can accelerate their English learning process by receiving the most suitable education for their level
